5 Tips for Your Daleys Adventure Boat Tour on Saratoga Lake, New York

It’s time to set sail on an exhilarating boat tour of beautiful, historic Saratoga Lake in New York. Get ready to immerse yourself in breathtaking scenery, thrilling activities, and unforgettable memories. To ensure you make the most of your nautical escapade, here are five fun-tastic tips to guarantee a boat tour you'll never forget!

1. Try Tubing

We’re the only tour boat on Saratoga Lake that offers tubing and we urge you — Don’t fear the tube! You might think you’re too old to feel the wind in your hair (or lack of) as you’re gliding in tow atop the pristine waters of Saratoga Lake. We’ve had passengers in their 80s embark on this adventure, so be sure to at least give it a try, even if it’s on the slower side.

2. Bring Your Bathing Suit

A boat tour with Daley's Adventure is no ordinary excursion; it's a party on water! You might think you’ll be content seated in our comfortable boats, and maybe you will, but it’s better to be prepared to cool off if you want to! Just in case you feel the urge to jump in, we encourage you to wear your suit under your clothes, even if you don’t think you’ll want to swim. Sometimes the waters just call to you! Unleash your inner aquanaut, and let the cool waters refresh you.

Pro tip: Pack some snacks and refreshments. It's a floating fiesta, and the more, the merrier! We have a great Bluetooth system on the boat to connect to your favorite songs.

3. BYOB (and beyond)

Bring your own beer and more! Adventure can cause you to work up an appetite so pack some snacks and drinks. We should note, Saratoga Lake is heavily patrolled to prevent boating while intoxicated. This is another reason to charter a boat instead of renting one. BWIs are expensive, and you could endanger yourself or someone else. Don’t take the risk! Ride with an experienced Captain.

4. Capture the Moments

Prepare your cameras, phones, polaroids — whatever you’re using to take pictures these days! Trust us, you won’t want to let the moment pass you by without capturing the awe-inspiring Saratoga Lake panoramas and the amazing time you can have with friends and family on the lake. Don't be shy; strike a pose with the scenic backdrop or snap candid shots of your grinning crew. Memories fade, but those photos will last a lifetime! (Be sure to tag us on Instagram and Facebook: @daleysadventureboattours)

5. Ignore the Weather Report

We’ve seen it over and over again. The weather app is telling us it’s raining while we’re getting a tan. The weather report is often wrong and sometimes when that rainy icon is displayed for the date, it means there’s rain for about 5 minutes and the rest of the day is hot and sticky – perfect boating weather! If you must abide by the forecast, be sure to at least check the hourly. Daleys has a premium radar weather pkg so feel free to call if you're concerned. If it’s a completely rainy day, Daleys just refunds you.

Daleys Adventure Boat Tours on Saratoga Lake promises an extraordinary day filled with fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments. So pack your enthusiasm, gather your crew, and let the adventure begin!

Embark on this aquatic escapade, and let the lake guide you towards a boat tour of a lifetime! Bon voyage!

DID YOU KNOW ?

Saratoga Lake and Lake George Ulysses S. Grant

One of the historic highlights of this area is a hidden gem known as Grant Cottage. In 1885 the

famous Civil War General and two-term U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant spent his final days in a

mountaintop cottage only a short distance from the lakes, you can see the mountain in the

distance. Like much of high society at that time, the Grant family

vacationed in Saratoga and Lake George. President Grant visited the lakes more than once and came for the

Great Intercollegiate Regatta here in Saratoga in 1874. When Grant was diagnosed with throat cancer, his

doctors chose 1000ft Mount McGregor because there was a health resort built there for the

“curative” air.

The tour guides up there share the compelling story of how Grant spent his last days finishing

his memoirs to take care of his family financially. The cottage is an amazing time-capsule

experience with the original furnishings left in place just the way they were the day Grant died.

In addition to the cottage tours, there are audio and guided tours of the grounds and a

scavenger hunt for the kids. One of the best features of the site is an incredible view of the

Hudson Valley from the Eastern Overlook, you can see 3 states and five mountain ranges! You

can also see Saratoga Lake, you can try to wave but we probably won’t be able to see you. A

visitor center provides exhibits, a film, and a nice gift shop. It’s a great place for a picnic lunch

too.

The Historic Site is located off exit 16 of Interstate – 87, open Wednesday-Sunday 9:30AM-

4PM. Pre-booking of guided tours is not required but is recommended. Tickets available at
